ST Electronics (Info-Security) and Temasek Polytechnic sign MOU to develop digital security expertise in Singapore 28 September 2010
Singapore , 28 September 2010 – STEE-InfoSec (ST Electronics (Info-Security) Pte Ltd) and Temasek Polytechnic today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Through this MOU, both parties will jointly promote and develop local capabilities and knowledge on cyber security competencies. STEE-InfoSec is a subsidiary of ST Electronics (Singapore Technologies Electronics Limited).
To support Temasek Polytechnic in developing Cyber Security IT specialists, STEE-InfoSec is offering full scholarships to select students for the Diploma in Cyber & Digital Security and Diploma in Digital Forensics. The company will also be awarding book prizes to distinguished graduates of these courses. In addition, STEE-InfoSec will provide internship to these students as part of the course curriculum, which will allow students to gain practical hands-on experience with a company that specialises in information security.
STEE-InfoSec and Temasek Polytechnic aim to develop and strengthen the pool of expertise in cyber defence through exchanges, student development and joint collaboration in developmental projects. These exchanges and attachments will study the latest trends in info-security technologies and undertake joint development projects.
STEE-InfoSec will leverage the polytechnic’s expertise to extend its knowledge base, while the polytechnic’s staff will leverage STEE-InfoSec’s network to extend its industrial collaboration. By building a stronger awareness on cyber security the parties hope to build a critical pool of Cyber Security professionals for Si ngapore .
The MOU was signed by Mr Lee Fook Sun, President of ST Electronics and Mr Edmond Khoo Keng Gie, Deputy Principal of Temasek Polytechnic. Asso c Prof Ho Peng Kee, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Law & Ministry of Home Affairs witnessed the event at GovernmentWare 2010.
